David Sills - Founder, President and CEO
David is a serial entrepreneur with extensive experience in the magazine and niche media business. He served as Vice President and Group Publisher of the PTN Publishing Corporation, a diversified business-to-business media and trade magazine company of over 80 titles with publishing, exposition, custom marketing and interactive divisions, which was later sold to Cygnus Publishing, funded by Kelso & Company.
Previously, David formed Distance Education Company with Barry Schwimmer to acquire the Home Study Schools Corporation, a leading provider of distance learning educational services. David served as President and CEO until its 2004 acquisition. David founded DCS Capital, a private investment firm in 2002, which has invested in a number of profitable acquisitions.
Barry Schwimmer - Founder and Chairman
Barry brings more than 20 years of expertise in finance and investment banking, including specific experience in the broadcast and print media industry. He founded Stoneybrook Capital, a private investment firm, in 1994. Stoneybrook's activities included leading the acquisitions of several private companies including The Corporate Presence, Distance Education Co., Litespeed Titanium Components, Inc., Dynamic Graphics/Creatas LLC, as well as SX2 Media Labs. Mr. Schwimmer has also participated via Stoneybrook in several acquisitions/recapitalizations which were organized by larger institutional investors. Prior to founding Stoneybrook, Mr. Schwimmer was a Managing Director of Commonwealth Capital Partners, a private equity fund, and a Founding Partner of Chemical Venture Partners (now CCMP).
Liz Roberts - Chief Strategy Officer
Liz directs revenue optimization, content strategy and audience development through in-depth analysis of the company's online analytics and business environment. When she joined SX2 in 2005 she focused on building the company's infrastructure to support the acquisition of Computer Shopper from CNET and create a platform for growth and expansion. Previously, Liz was the vice president of operations at Distance Education Company, where she led that company's strategic planning, online and business development.
Josh London - Chief Operating Officer
Josh is responsible for the company's online efforts including strategy and product development, revenue, content acquisition and monetization. He directs the company's marketing initiatives, including branding, communications efforts, custom publishing and research.
Josh has over 15 years of hands-on operational, marketing, and business development experience in the consumer and business-to-business markets at companies including CNET Networks, ZDNet, Ziff Davis, Thomas Publishing Company, and PSINET.
John A. Burek - Editor in Chief
John is a 16-year veteran of technology journalism, 15 of them spent at Computer Shopper and ComputerShopper.com, where he's held most every editorial position and covered just about every type of hardware or software over the years. He has served as a product reviewer, a guide writer, an editor, and an advice and how-to columnist. When he's not attending to business, he's an enthusiastic PC builder, a video- and audio-editing buff, and a book collector.
